SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Presentations
Authors are encouraged to submit proposals for current topics of interest for pharmacists, lawyers, and business and compliance representatives. We provide some suggested topics below, but proposals on other current, relevant topics are encouraged. We also ask that you consider proposing session formats other than lecture/panel. Please be sure to indicate any special setup needed. The Review Committee will take these requests into consideration and work to implement them if possible. Suggested topics:
- Opioid addiction – multiple potential topics, including compliance best practices; FDA, CDC, and HHS guidance; payor restrictions; DEA enforcement and compliance; state and local government litigation updatev
- 340B program – current issues
- Precision medicine – current issues
- Information technology in pharmacy
- Specialty pharmacy – current issues
- Board of Pharmacy mock hearing
- Patient Safety credits for Pharmacy
- Ethics (attorneys) - must specifically relate to professionalism, substance abuse, access to justice and fairness, pro bono representation, attorney client privilege, conflicts of interest, assuring fairness in matters of race, religion, or gender
- Other
Submission Requirements
Each abstract should be:
- A 45‐minute presentation by one or more speakers, with 15 minutes for Question & Answer
- 300 words or less
- Include a short (50 word) biography
- Four learning objectives (learning objectives must be written from the learner’s perspective. What will the learner be able to do after hearing your presentation?)
Requirements for Selected Presenters
Each presenter must:
- Confirm acceptance of the invitation to present
- Confirm final presentation summary for inclusion in the registration materials before June 15, 2018
- Complete and sign a Financial Relationship Disclosure Statement and a Conflict of Interest Declaration by June 1, 2018
- Register for the conference on or before September 28, 2018
- Submit a final PowerPoint presentation by September 28, 2018
- Participate fully in the conference
Travel Reimbursement: Travel assistance is available on a per CE session basis. Speakers may apply for reimbursement up to $700 in transportation and up to 2 nights hotel stay at the ASPL room block rate. The reimbursement will be divided if a session is led by more than one speaker. ASPL will waive conference registration for invited speakers.
